As we continue to watch the Obamacare debacle unfold, and as Establishment Republicans blame uncompromising conservatives for the consequences of the government shutdown, we must hold our ground! The state of Virginia is currently Ground Zero for the battle for the soul of our nation and for the Republican Party.

This week’s political news has been fast-paced, urgent, and indeed scary, but how do we cut through the spin of the Obama administration and their mainstream media? The facts are simple. President Obama and his Democratic Senate absolutely refuse to compromise with House Republicans. They are so unwilling to compromise or even work with Republicans that they shut down the federal government and have now resorted to fear-mongering and hyping this government slow-down into more than it is.

Tomorrow, United States Senators will cast the most important vote of their term thus far – the cloture vote to end debate and proceed to final passage on the House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR). The most successful election that the Republicans have experienced in the past decade was in 2010 when grassroots activists like you rose up in opposition to the tyranny you were seeing from the Obama Administration. Every Republican campaigned on a promise to restore power to the people and do away with the most unpopular law in America – ObamaCare.

Update: Yesterday, Senator Ted Cruz asked for unanimous consent to immediately consider the House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR) without any amendments. As a reminder, this CR funds the government, takes steps to avoid a default on government debt in light of the looming debt ceiling, and defunds ObamaCare. Senator Reid denied this request.
