You may have heard about the shameful debacle in Austin last week when hundreds of protesters stalled a pro-life omnibus in the State Senate. If the vote had been taken 5 minutes earlier, common-sense, lifesaving measures would have been put into place for women and unborn babies. Clinics would have been forced to comply with basic safety regulations, and abortions after 20 weeks would have been banned. We had the votes in the Senate, 19-10, and we let it slip through our fingers.

But we have second chance; Governor Rick Perry has called a special session that begins TODAY. A public hearing on HB 2 is expected in the House State Affairs Committee TOMORROW, July 2 at 2 p.m.

Planned Parenthood is already making robo-calls, asking a fresh wave of protesters to storm Austin and repeat their performance. They will be wearing orange, the color of the vests abortion clinic escorts wear.

We MUST counter their presence. Please come to Austin and join the struggle. Plan to stay at least until midnight and wear BLUE.

Public Hearing, House State Affairs Committee

TOMORROW, July 2nd, 2013

10:00 a.m. John H. Reagan Building (105 W. 15th St.)

We know that at this late notice, it will be hard for many of you to get here. Please be aware that the fight will last well into next week after the July 4th holiday. Many groups plan to come to Austin the week of the 8th for the votes – please consider joining us then too as we stand up for women and unborn children!
