Fright or Freedom
What’s scarier than a giant skeleton lurking in a neighbor’s yard? The possibility of leftists and socialists gaining control! In less than a week, Americans will head to the polls to decide who will lead the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and numerous state and local offices.
As Americans look toward 2027, we should not elect politicians who cast a shadow over our country’s future, but patriots who will illuminate the American Dream for generations to come.
The stakes extend well beyond Election Day. A change in congressional control could threaten conservative legislative accomplishments and open the door to ghoulish policies including higher taxes, taxpayer-funded abortions, expanded federal spending, weakened border enforcement, diversity initiatives that prioritize identity over merit, and efforts to advance gender ideology in schools and public institutions.
These are not the kinds of tricks American families need. They need leaders who will protect their children, respect their freedoms, and promote the conditions that allow families and communities to flourish. And this is why Eagle Forum PAC exists: to support the top pro-family candidates across the country.
Eagle Forum PAC has endorsed numerous candidates who pledge to uphold the values of faith, family, and freedom. Each candidate has filled out our questionnaire or already has a voting record to evaluate. While some races are expected to be relatively straightforward, others could have significant consequences for the future of conservative leadership in Washington. Here are a few contests worth watching as Election Day approaches.
Pennsylvania’s congressional district 10 is one of the most contentious — and important — races for pro-family folks. Eagle Forum PAC has noted that incumbent Republican Scott Perry has held this seat for over 13 years. Rep. Perry has been a fighter for the family while being in the majority as well as the minority. He currently has a 100% score on the Eagle Forum Scorecard this Congress. Despite his record, Perry finds himself locked in a highly competitive race against Democrat Janelle Stelson.
Stelson is a well-known local reporter who is parading as a moderate and running on priorities that Rep. Perry has either voted for or accomplished. She claims to support tax cuts for working families, opposes socialism, and does not believe in boys in girls’ sports. Even if she is genuine in these beliefs, she has chosen to caucus with the Democrat Party. The pressure from Democrat leadership to vote against her campaign promises will be immense. To vote otherwise would risk losing key committee assignments or blocking bills that she has sponsored. If she wins, she will support the Democrats who will likely be controlled by the socialists instead of being a voice for her constituents in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional district.
Pennsylvania voters have a clear alternative in Perry, whose record in Congress is proof of his commitment to conservative principles. Rather than taking a chance on campaign promises, voters can support an established conservative who has consistently demonstrated where he stands. Rep. Perry’s record speaks louder than his opponent’s rhetoric.
Another race attracting attention is Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. Once considered a relatively safe Republican seat, the race has become more competitive than expected, with pro-family incumbent Rep. Eli Crane fighting to hold the district.
Rep. Crane has only held office for three years but has used this short time to make an incredible impact for his constituents and Americans across the country. As a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, he has been instrumental in securing our borders. He has also worked across the aisle to pass the Subterranean Border Defense Act (H.R. 495) to enhance reporting measures around illicit tunnels from border-crossers. His votes on immigration, deregulation, and other pro-family initiatives have earned him a 100% with Eagle Forum.
Rep. Crane’s opponent, a 20-year politician, is starkly different. After serving on Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Jonathan Nez became Vice President of the Navajo Nation Council from 2019 to 2023. During his term, he pushed the COVID-19 vaccine on the Navajo people, endorsed same-sex marriage, and advocated for casinos on tribal lands. Rep. Crane’s campaign spokesperson stated:
Jonathan Nez has been a politician for over 20 years. Navajo voters fired him in 2022, and all of AZ-02 rejected him in 2024. Rural Arizonans are sick of career politicians and their broken promises.
Electing Nez to the U.S. House of Representatives would result in extreme Democrat priorities that would significantly harm American families.
Our Nebraska friend, Senator Pete Ricketts, is running for re-election. While this is a race that is “likely Republican,” the dynamics are quite interesting. Sen. Ricketts is one of four candidates vying for the Senate seat, with none being a Democrat. The top opponent is Independent Dan Osborn, who is labeling himself as an outsider figure who will not be beholden to any political party. His views on supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants and criticisms of ICE have earned him the nickname “Democrat Dan.” In addition, he supports increasing the minimum wage, LGBTQ rights, returning to the Roe v. Wade framework for abortion, and legalizing marijuana.
Two more candidates will be on the ballot — Chuck Conboy with the America First Party and Robin Richards with the Nebraska Working People Party. Conboy has a platform that looks very similar to Sen. Ricketts’ while Richards’ priorities lean Left. Neither will have the votes to come close to winning.
The Nebraska ballot will list one more Senate candidate even though he has already dropped out. Mike Marvin of the Legal Marijuana NOW party had one major priority, and it was evident in the party’s name. With marijuana and other intoxicating substances becoming a money-maker for the drug industry, more money is being poured into candidates and lobbyists who will fight for full legalization. Marvin threw his full support behind Osborne in hopes that he would lend a helping hand to these addiction-for-profit companies. Sen. Ricketts has proven time and time again that he votes to protect families from these predatory industries and federal overreach. Eagle Forum President Kris Ullman stated in our endorsement the following:
Ricketts consistently champions the Constitutional rights of every American and has voted to rein in the federal government through deregulation and cutting taxes. He believes that strong families produce a strong nation, so he has been a leader on legislation protecting babies in the womb, supporting pregnant mothers, defending parental rights, and shielding children from extreme ideologies. In addition, he has spoken out against the proliferation of addictive drugs that plague Nebraska communities.
Although some races have attracted more attention than others, Eagle Forum PAC has endorsed a strong slate of candidates across the country.

This Halloween season don’t let the wrong candidates turn America’s future into a nightmare. Now is the time to take action and not only vote, but encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same. Make phone calls, send texts, and perhaps even offer to drive others to the polls. This election is crucial for America’s future and will determine whether any pro-family policies can pass during the last two years of President Trump’s term. When you head to the polls on November 3, vote for leaders who will defend life, family, and freedom and help keep the American Dream alive.
