Eagle Forum Statement on Midterm Elections
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the American electorate sent a message to those in power in Washington, DC, that the federal government is still not listening to the people.
Despite lower crime rates, stopping illegal immigration, and preventing certain tax increases, too many people still feel their priorities are not being addressed. Prices are still too high, despite promises to the contrary. The causes are complex including both long-term systemic problems like uncontrollable entitlements, Obamacare, fraud, and an unwillingness to reduce government programs in any real way and short-term issues including inconsistent tariff policies and an unfinished conflict in Iran.
The reality is that despite Republicans controlling the White House and Congress, too many Americans did not see the changes that were promised. Instead, in too many ways it’s been ‘politics as usual.’
But no matter the outcome of this election, we as Christians know that our God is still in charge and we will not lose faith in Him or in the nation we are blessed to call home. We will continue to pray for all those in positions of authority. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
As conservatives, today must be the beginning of a recommitment to our values. Conservatives must rededicate themselves to preserving the primacy of the family, the sanctity of life, personal responsibility, fiscal prudence, and the highest ethical standards. Conservatives must not be afraid to talk about these principles and take bold action to achieve conservative goals.
Thankfully, Americans have the guidebook they need — the U.S. Constitution. We must recommit ourselves to its principles of limited government and the separation of powers. And we must protect it and our constitutional republic from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Eagle Forum PAC would like to congratulate our 2026 endorsed candidates who won on Tuesday. Their pro-family voices are more important now than ever. U.S. Senate: Senator Pete Ricketts (NE) and Senators-elect Rep. Kevin Hern (OK), Rep. Andy Barr (KY), Rep. Harriet Hageman (WY), and Rep. Barry Moore (AL). U.S. House of Representatives: Brian Jack (GA-3), Andrew Clyde (GA-9), Rick Allen (GA-12), Mary Miller (IL-15), Mike Johnson (LA-4), Pete Sessions (TX-17), Brandon Gill (TX-26), and Jace Yarbrough (TX-32). State Offices: Corey Hill (AL Commissioner of Agriculture), Cathi Bradford (AL State Board of Education, District 6), Emily Jones (AL State Board of Education, District 8).
Eagle Forum was founded by Phyllis Schlafly, a dynamic and charismatic leader who inspired countless women and men to participate in the process of self-government and public policy-making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, with respect for the nuclear family, public and private virtue, and private enterprise. For nearly fifty years, Eagle Forum’s network of state organizations has led the charge to mobilize the grassroots to defend the founding principles of the United States.
