New Army Combat Fitness Test Fails Women and Men

The nation’s Capital is somewhat distracted right now, but CMR is keeping a close eye on policy decisions affecting our military. In the past year we have seen signs of trouble on two main tracks – sexual misconduct and advanced “gender-neutral” combat training that does not work for the majority of women. This newly posted article highlights both issues, starting with a focus on the stunning failure rate for women on the new Army Combat Fitness Test (AFCT):

Some women have excelled in impressive ways, but ideological theories of gender equality are not holding up. Policymakers who embraced unrealistic theories of gender equality should be held accountable for the consequences. To avoid lifelong debilitating injuries for women trying to compete with men, authorities likely will re-define tough standards to make them “fair” to women but less effective for men preparing to fight and survive in close combat missions.

President Donald Trump, Defense Secretary Mark Esper, and the newly installed Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley should review the situation and eliminate politically correct “gender diversity metrics” (quotas). Since General Milley was responsible for implementing problematic women in combat policies when he was Army Chief of Staff under President Barack Obama, new leadership is even more important.
