Standing Up for the West
Sri Lanka seems like a faraway place, but it isn’t. Among the dead were four Americans. That devastating attack was not directed at Sri Lanka, but was a calculated attack on Christianity and the West. Two Catholic churches and one evangelical church were attacked, as were hotels that catered to Western clients.

Children are Pawns at Border
I visited a migrant respite center in McAllen, Texas, run by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, established in 2014 when Immigration and Customs Enforcement was overwhelmed with thousands of children and teenagers turning themselves in to Border Patrol agents. One year ago, the center was receiving between 60 and 120 migrants a day, nearly all of them families from Central America.
