This issue of the Eagle Forum Report is one of the most poignant ever and here’s why. We believe that it’s wrong for government to choose economic winners and losers by proclaiming that Walmart can open, but your hair salon and barber shop as well as millions of other small businesses must close. We believe it’s wrong for government to force the closure of churches and businesses based upon health models, rather than upon true health statistics! We believe it’s wrong for government to empower itself to print money, thus undermining the value of our currency! We believe it’s wrong for government to scare its citizens and create new terms like “shelter in place” and “social distancing” to control our coming and going! We believe that governors, county judges and city mayors who think it’s their job to “track” us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week are wrong!
Eagle Forum members are among the brightest Constitutional thinkers and liberty-loving patriots in America. We are blessed by our Creator with the courage and political know-how to respond to all of this Government overreach.
Cong. Chip Roy is newly elected and is unafraid of those who’d abuse government power — even one of the worst abusers: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Her blatant attempts to force taxpayer funding for abortion and other economically destructive bills down every American’s throat in the pandemic bills has met Rep. Roy’s spirited defense that’s as strong as the beloved Alamo in the city he represents.
Jared Woodfill is a Christian attorney who has sought counsel from Dr. Steven Hotze of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center Intl. (Hotzehwc.com). Dr. Hotze maintains that building each person’s immunity is the best means of protecting everyone from the COVID-19 virus. Woodfill and Hotze filed a lawsuit when Texas Governor Greg Abbott unilaterally decided to spend $295 million to trace every citizen’s move. That lawsuit may be helpful to other states suffering the same government abuse.
Patrick Wood’s “The Nightmare of Contact Tracing” describes a possible scenario of contact tracing that is being employed in several states. Wood wrote the prose narrative for the “novel coronavirus” with each of you in mind because many states are doing more than tracing you from restaurants to your own front door. Minnesota, for example, is demanding that even hospitals hand over to the State “near real-time” information of every hospital patient, including the name, address, birth date, symptoms, diagnosis, age, gender, race, ethnicity, city and zip code.
Be encouraged! These brave and spirited writers are making tremendous impacts.
As Romans 8:37-39 teaches, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
