firing range

My mother, Phyllis Schlafly, learned how to fire a gun while testing ammunition at a munitions plant. The bad lots, misfires, and small explosions that she experienced gave her a lifelong love of watching fireworks and things that go “bang.”

Since the new Administration has made new restrictions on gun ownership a priority, I decided to get armed. Firearms are important for women because they can level a dangerous field. Knowledge of guns reduces the fear of guns. Getting comfortable and familiar with a gun is so important so that we can have confidence in using a gun.

Start a ladies’ gun club or join a gun club as I did. Our group is called Girls Just Wanna Have Guns. We practice loading, aiming, and shooting with a variety of firearms. We are getting prepared. As one lady said, “My husband has guns in the house, so I should learn how to use them.”

All of our Constitutional protections are important, but these rights must be regularly exercised so that we do not lose our rights. I can speak, worship, publish, petition, and assemble because I am able to defend myself. An armed citizenry protects liberty.

I encourage Eagles to get prepared and learn how to defend and protect yourself. Start a gun club and practice shooting. As Eagle Kitty Werthmann used to exhort in her speeches on socialism: “Buy ammunition.”
