Champion for Women: Rep. Debbie Lesko
March is Women’s History Month. This month is usually used to promote and idealize radical-feminists and their ideology. It’s no coincidence that FX/Hulu released Mrs. America in March 2020 — a show wrongly portraying Eagle Forum Founder Phyllis Schlafly and her defeat of the Equal Rights Amendment. For radical feminists and the Left alike, Phyllis and women who think like her, betray their sex.
The Left forgets that there’s a reason the ERA failed. If ratified into the Constitution, the ERA poses a threat to women. But this threat isn’t just in the form of the ERA, it’s also in the rise and acceptance of sexual orientation and gender identity ideology. Isn’t it ironic that it’s not sexist for men, posing as women, to take women’s spaces and opportunities? Apparently not. As the ERA Coalition said:
“While the effort to amend the constitution to include sex equality began nearly a century ago, our renewed efforts are centered on Black, Indigenous and Women of Color, gender-nonconforming and transgender women and girls, and nonbinary people — those who are most impacted by systemic inequities.”
It’s now more important than ever, to teach our girls that there are women in leadership who offer an alternative to this radical viewpoint. That’s why, in this week on Engage with Eagle Forum, hosts Kirsten Hasler and Tabitha Walter interview Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ). Congresswoman Lesko joined Congress in 2018 and has since been a staunch advocate against the inclusion of SOGI into our laws, especially because it harms women. You don’t want to miss this interview!
