Marriage

Marriage

Cornerstone or Capstone?

A cornerstone is the rock upon which a building is built; the cornerstone joins two walls together to form a single unit. Marriage is a cornerstone that brings together a man and a woman to build a family and join their lives together.

Same-Sex Marriage

Dems’ LGBT-CR

Rumor has it that Democrats want to attach a House-passed same-sex marriage bill to the CR. The ironically named Respect for Marriage Act (H.R. 8404) repeals the Clinton-era Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which recognized marriage as between one man and one woman.

Conservatives Must Reject the So-Called “Respect for Marriage Act”

The inaptly-named Respect for Marriage Act seeks to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 (DOMA) and codify the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Stop ERA

Virginia Committee votes down Equal Rights Amendment!

FYI, today the Virginia Senate Rules Committee voted against ratifying the (non-existing) ERA. If you can believe it, a crowd of Leftists basically took over the Committee singing “We Shall Overcome” and being extremely loud and obnoxious, making threats about the defeat being on national news, and any legislator who votes against will be replaced. What a circus! (I was watching the committee hearing on streaming video). The vote was not recorded but they did show hands and it was a strictly party vote. Thank God!

How To Be A Wife

None of us is born knowing how to be a wife — it is a learned behavior. Sadly, many women are products of divorce or of conflict-ridden marriages and thus have no roadmap for love. That’s the bad news. The good news is any woman can learn the art of love, regardless of her upbringing or circumstances. But to do so, she must first reject the cultural narratives all around us.
