It’s a good time to remember,
That freedom is not free.
Many soldiers have died,
Protecting home and humanity.
Strife, wars and rumors of wars,
Do continue to increase.
Without disciplined militia,
Our security would have ceased.
We honor those we’ve lost,
Their sacrifice was complete.
Without doubt they gave the most,
Because they did not retreat.
There are not enough ways,
To express our gratitude.
Yet we salute, pause and pray,
With humble thanks that is renewed.
Their names will be remembered,
In the books that mark their time.
And their service is recorded,
In strong songs, and on our minds.
They gave their hearts and dreams,
So, we can thrive and live free.
Their sacrifice was supreme,
For family, faith and liberty.
