Angels
“Angel Feathers for Christmas!”

Yes, there are such things as Angels,
And they do have feathered wings.
And when many get together,
They really love to sing!

They staged a concert near Bethlehem.
One starry night, long ago.
The chorus woke nearby Shepherds,
They put on such a boisterous show!

Angels must have shed some feathers,
That fell gently to the ground.
As they clapped their wings together,
In rhythm with the sound.

They heralded the coming,
Of the newborn Baby King!
They couldn’t hold back their delighting,
For all the good things He would bring.

This Baby’s name was “Jesus,”
His Mom, “Mary,” was a maiden.
“Joseph” was her fiancé, and
God’s Spirit gave them praises.

Now this very special Birthday,
Was like none the world had ever seen.
A King born in a stable?
What could this possibly mean?

Mary laid Jesus in a manger,
They did not have a crib.
But they kept Him safe from danger,
In everything they did.

The Shepherds came and celebrated,
They found The Babe in the trough.
Just as the Angels stated,
He was wrapped in strips of cloth.

These good tidings they spread,
Throughout Judea they were bold!
“All things,” the Shepherds said,
“Happened, just as we were told!”

But I just have to wonder,
Though The Bible never said,
Did the Shepherds use Angel feathers,
To make a crown, for Jesus’ head?
