On May 24, 2019, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a proposed rule to end an Obama-era regulation prohibiting healthcare professionals from treating patients based on their biological sex. Specifically, the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) section 1557 is a civil rights provision protecting people from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in certain health programs or activities.

Sign Petition on Biological Definition of “Sex”

The American College of Pediatricians is spearheading a petition supporting the Administration’s recent clarification that “sex” denotes biological sex and not gender identity. The Obama administration had previously expanded the definition of sex in Title IX to include “gender”. The petition is a strong, well-documented statement necessary to protect the integrity of American culture as well as confused young people. It is linked below.
