Rasmussen reports: “A majority of voters don’t trust either the Biden administration or the news media to tell the truth about the situation in Afghanistan, and think it’s worse than they’re being told. Only 34% of Likely U.S. Voters trust what Biden administration officials are saying about the current situation in Afghanistan. Fifty-four percent (54%) don’t trust what administration officials are saying, while 11% are not sure.”
Peter kept crying “wolf” when none existed, so people stopped trusting Peter. Once someone lies to you, you can never trust that person to tell the truth. Especially when our government lies to us.
For the last 17 months, the American people have been told countless lies about Covid as our government promoted fear and shutdowns. Americans clearly saw the needless destruction of our economic, social, educational, and religious lives due to government lies. We have complained about “fake news”, but any trust in government officials has been eroded by their fear-mongering and deception.
So no surprise that we the people think the Biden administration is lying about the fiasco in Afghanistan. The man had no plan.
As Ronald Reagan often said, “The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
