Vaccine mandate

When Britney Spears gave a heartfelt speech on the tyranny of a conservatorship that ruled her life, including the songs she sang, the medicines she ingested, and her relationship with her boyfriend, Americans were appalled. Demonstrators rallied to Free Britney from the tyranny of paternalism.

Let’s Free Americans from the similar overreach and control of government and employers who think they know better what’s good for us. Shame on Britney’s father and shame on our elected leaders who are exploiting fear to gain control over every aspect of our lives.

Unions were created to protect workers from exploitation. Some unions have listened to their membership and opposed the mandates on their members. Democrats who used to support unions now oppose unions that are protecting their workers from being summarily fired. Should ingesting a medicine be a condition of employment? All of these government and employer mandates are one-size-fits-all.

Each person should be able to direct his own healthcare. As Senator Rand Paul eloquently said last month, “They can’t arrest all of us.”

The bureaucratic mandates do not follow the science; they are following political science. Just like Britney, Americans do not need or want the paternalism that is directing our lives, our livelihoods, and our healthcare.
