As Congress is drafting a massive spending bill, news outlets are reporting that the President has offered to cut a deal on the illegal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The deal would continue DACA for three years in exchange for three years of border wall funding. It does not include an end to chain migration or the Visa Lottery like President Trump laid out in his immigration framework. Amnesty would be given to 690,000 immigrants in addition to the 1 million immigrants who arrive each year to compete against Americans for jobs.
This comes as a surprise after Democrats backed off of putting DACA in the bill agreeing to tackle it separately. Many Members of Congress are in disbelief while others are welcoming it. Because they were expecting to release the budget bill this week, and with the previous spending bill expiring March 23, the addition of any DACA measure would be rushed. Your voice must be heard in Washington, DC so that our government does not give amnesty to illegal immigrants.
Contact the White House and your Representatives now to let them know that any amnesty measure in the budget is unacceptable!
