Coral Ridge Ministries Media v. SPLC

Eagle Forum Foundation has filed an amicus brief in Coral Ridge Ministries Media v. SPLC.

Many conservative organizations have been defamed as “hate groups” that should be destroyed. The legal bar to prove defamation is too high and requires proving actual malice. In Coral Ridge Ministries Media v. Southern Poverty Law Center, we ask the Court to revisit its rulings on defamation. Justice Clarence Thomas said, “The States are perfectly capable of striking an acceptable balance between encouraging robust public discourse and providing a meaningful remedy for reputational harm.”
