Teacher Grading

Work Less and Get Good Grades

In high school, I was a terrible speller. Spelling seemed unimportant and I was able to pass classes without having to spell correctly. Then in my first year in college, one professor docked my grade for every misspelled word. I quickly learned how to spell.

How Silly is Equity?

In a centrally planned economy, all outcomes are the same and consumer demand is meaningless. You want two-ply toilet paper? Sorry, this month we only produced one-ply. Even though the principles of capitalism are obvious, even capitalists are tempted to join the communists and proclaim their belief in equality of outcomes.

Letter: Chromosomes determine sex, not gender surgery

The state of Missouri has many laws that protect children, including bans on the use of tobacco, alcohol, tattoos and tanning beds, plus restrictions on employment and driving. The state of Missouri should protect children from chemical castration, the destruction of sexual pleasure, and their future fertility.

Light Years Ahead of Her Time

Today, I honor my mother for her extraordinary strength and intellect. But I also am grateful that because of her foresight and advocacy, I have a large supply of 100-watt incandescent light bulbs in my basement. My home will continue to be illuminated by this warm glow for many years.

Join a Union for Free Pot!

Union membership has been declining for decades (with the notable exceptions of teachers’ unions and government unions). Union bosses realize that they must hook new, young members. Union dues are vitally important to funding the Democrat party and for pushing Leftist causes.

We are all Potheads Now

The majority of states now allow some form of legalized marijuana. On the federal level, Sen. Charles Schumer is pushing to void the laws against marijuana and expunge criminal convictions. The public seems to have accepted the use of pot.

Vice is Not Nice

“Legalize it and tax it” is an argument that many well-meaning Americans have advocated. In other words, people will use illegal substances anyway, so why not let government get its share of the revenues?

Phyllis Schlafly Stop ERA

Back to the Future: an ERA Update

ERA is not about rights for women. The push for ERA today is a push for the elimination of any rights for women. If ERA were ever to be in our Constitution, women and girls would be erased and America would have no distinction — ever — on the basis of biological sex. In a sex-neutral society, the vulnerable women and girls are the ones who lose.
