Charleston, SC – As more and more local, state and national conservatives line up behind the Larry Grooms for Congress campaign – more good news emerged today. A long-time national leader of the conservative movement, best selling author and founder of the Eagle Forum, Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Larry Groom for Congress.

Phyllis Schlafly said:

“I have dedicated most of my life to fighting for the conservative movement. That fight continues today – and I am happy to endorse Larry Grooms for the U.S. Congress in the First District of South Carolina and wish him every success.”

Senator Larry Grooms said, “Today’s endorsement from conservative titan Phyllis Schlafly is truly flattering…and at the same time exciting to know she supports my record of conservative results and my conservative platform moving forward. Together with conservatives like Ms. Schlafly, we can stop the out-of-control spending in Washington, lower taxes, balance the budget and restore the founding principles of this great nation.

With a strong Democrat nominee in the first District and a strong Democrat in the White House – it’s vital we elect a proven conservative we can trust. Voters see that, and it’s truly significant that people across the district, state and nation are lining up behind our campaign.”

Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972, when she started her national volunteer organization called Eagle Forum. She was named one of the 100 most important women of the 20th century by the Ladies’ Home Journal. Ms. Schlafly’s monthly newsletter called The Phyllis Schlafly Report is now in its 46th year. Her syndicated column appears in 100 newspapers, and on many conservative websites, her radio commentaries are heard daily on over 600 stations, and her radio talk show on education called “Eagle Forum Live” is heard weekly on 90 stations.
