EAGLE FORUM PROUDLY JOINS MIKE PENCE IN HIS FIGHT TO UPHOLD PARENTAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING AMICUS BRIEF IN IOWA COURT CASE
Pence’s Non-Profit Group is Fighting in Court to Protect Iowa Parents who are being undermined by a School District Gender Identity Policy

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Eagle Forum today announced it is supporting former Vice President’s Mike Pence non-profit group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), in their fight to uphold parental rights. Eagle Forum submitted an amicus brief, along with 19 other pro-family organizations, to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. AAF has engaged in a court case to defend a group of Iowa parents battling a school district that is seeking to undermine parental rights when it comes to the gender identity of their children.

“Eagle Forum is honored to join Advancing American Freedom in the fight to protect parental rights against an activist school district seeking to take advantage of children suffering from gender dysphoria,” said Eagle Forum President Kristen Ullman.  “Eagle Forum shares AAF’s mission to preserve the rights of parents across the country.  Whether it’s Iowa, Alabama, or California, protecting parental rights and safeguarding children knows no geographic boundary. This has long been a commitment of Eagle Forum and we will vigorously continue it.”

Recently, Eagle Forum of Alabama successfully helped the passage of the “Alabama Vulnerable Child Compassion Protection Act,” which prohibits the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy on children. After three successive legislative sessions, the Alabama Vulnerable Child Compassion Protection Act was signed into law on May 8, 2022, after final passage by large majorities in both chambers.

Eagle Forum was founded by Phyllis Schlafly, a dynamic and charismatic leader who inspired countless women and men to participate in the process of self-government and public policy-making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, with respect for the nuclear family, public and private virtue, and private enterprise. For nearly fifty years, Eagle Forum’s network of state organizations has led the charge to mobilize the grassroots to defend the founding principles of the United States.
