The Eagle Forum’s national board announced today its endorsement of conservative outsider Bryan Taylor for Alabama Chief Justice in Alabama’s upcoming Republican Primary.

Kristen A. Ullman, President of Eagle Forum released the following statement in support of Taylor’s campaign:

“Eagle Forum is pleased to endorse Bryan Taylor for Alabama Chief Justice. The Chief Justice race in Alabama is one of the most important races going on across the country this election cycle. Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has finally overturned Roe v. Wade and restored the balance of power between the states and the federal government, liberal special interests are targeting state supreme courts to advance their leftist agenda by judicial fiat.

Bryan Taylor is leading the resistance to a liberal takeover of Alabama’s court system. He has one of the strongest conservative records of any Republican candidate we’ve known, and his experience is unparalleled. He is a proven pro-life, pro-family, rule-of-law conservative Republican, a devoted father, an Iraq War veteran, and an Eagle Scout. And we enthusiastically endorse his campaign.

At a time when Americans are losing faith in our institutions, including our courts, we need bold leaders like Bryan Taylor who will stand on the truth, be guided by their faith, and uphold the Constitution as originally intended by the Founders.”

“I’m so honored to have the Eagle Forum’s endorsement in this crucial election,” Taylor said. “For nearly 50 years, the Eagle Forum has embodied and advanced the conservative values of individual liberty, strong families, and the sanctity of life, all of which are reflected in our great American Constitution,” Taylor added. “And in Alabama, I’ve enjoyed working side-by-side with Eagle Forum President Emeritus Eunie Smith on so many issues important to conservatives. As Alabama’s next Chief Justice, I will support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic—the same oath I took as a Soldier. And I will lead our state court system with fairness, fortitude, and abiding faith in the Creator by whom we are endowed with our inalienable rights.”

Bryan Taylor is an Iraq war Veteran, former military prosecutor, and retired Army Judge Advocate. Taylor is a co-founding member of the law firm of Bachus Brom & Taylor, where he concentrates his practice on Constitutional law, appeals, election law, business litigation, and public policy. Taylor has served as a legal counsel to two Republican governors, most recently as chief legal advisor to Governor Kay Ivey, and he is a former conservative Republican member of the Alabama State Senate. Taylor also recently served as a legal counsel to the Alabama Republican Party. He and his three children live in Shelby County, where they attend Double Oak Community Church.
