PRESS RELEASE

August 1, 2019

Eunie Smith, president of Eagle Forum, is delighted to announce that Suzi Voyles of Sandy Springs, Georgia has been unanimously approved by the Board of Directors to be the new president of Eagle Forum of Georgia. “Suzi comes highly recommended to us. She has many years of experience in Georgia and national politics, and she is a wonderful addition to our state leadership roster.” Suzi replaces Pat Daugherty, Ed.D. who has stepped down to serve as the editor of a new weekly online newsletter called Eagle Forum Insights

“Both Suzi and Pat will attend Eagle Council in DC September 19-21.  We hope many Georgians will join us there,” said Eagle Forum Chairman Anne Schlafly Cori. “It includes lobbying, expert speakers, training and networking with Eagles from across the country.  At the Founders Banquet on Saturday night, we will launch a new video honoring my mother Phyllis Schlafly.”

Suzi Voyles has been a leader in grassroots politics for more than 20 years and is a former president of the Georgia Federation of Republican Women. She has been the Executive Director of her county’s Republican Party, was the Trump/Pence Georgia Field Director in 2016, and she has served on boards of election to ensure voting integrity in national, state, county, and municipal elections.

Actively involved in public policy lobbying, Suzi co-authored Congenital Heart Defect Awareness bills that passed both the U.S. House and the U. S. Senate in 2005 and both houses of the Georgia General Assembly in 2006. She currently serves as the State Executive Director/Chairman for Maggie’s List, a federal PAC that promotes the election of conservative women to federal office.

Founded by Phyllis Schlafly in 1972, Eagle Forum continues its mission to enable conservative and pro-family men and women to participate in the process of self-government and public policy making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and private enterprise.

“I am very honored and excited to be able to have a part in furthering the legacy of Eagle Forum in Georgia,” said Voyles, “especially in educating young adults about how important it is to conserve the principles and ideas of our American founding.” She serves as the advisor for Teenage Republicans of Georgia, and she has done extensive work in designing and implementing strategic grassroots citizen action training programs.
