Chief Justice Roy Moore to Keynote Eagle Council
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 2, 2015
St. Louis, MO: Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore will keynote the Saturday night dinner program at Eagle Council XLIV, September 12. Justice Moore is considered by many to be an arch opponent against judicial supremacy and tyranny from the bench. He first served as Chief Justice until 2003 when he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the courthouse. He successfully ran for this seat again in 2012.
“We are so very excited to have Chief Justice Moore speak at Eagle Council,” said Founder and CEO of Eagle Forum Phyllis Schlafly. “He has become a towering figure to those of us who fight against judicial supremacy and liberal activism from the bench. The judicial branch of government is to clearly interpret the law that is written — not create new laws and new rights out of thin air. We are witnessing that rampant supremacy and legislating from the bench at almost every level in today’s world. Justice Roy Moore has been a force standing against these judges-turned-lawmakers, and we thank him for his steadfast commitment. I can’t think of a better addition to our Eagle Council program than Chief Justice Moore.”
Eagle Council will be held in St. Louis, MO at the St. Louis Airport Marriott, September 11 through 13, 2015.
