I don’t know why, but they are.
In my home state of Missouri, where we have a super-majority of Republican state legislators, they have just voted for a brand new tax increase.
Biden has proposed a large tax increase and Congressional Republicans are not shouting it down.
Why should you oppose a tax increase, any tax increase, and even a tax increase that does not affect you? Two reasons:
- Because we, as conservatives, do not want to feed the beast of government. Government (at all levels) has plenty of money already. If they want more money for a special project, then they can easily cut 5% or 10% of fat from somewhere else.
- Conservatives believe that we the people can better spend our money than the government can spend our money.
The Left believes in ENVY — that if someone has more than you, then taking from the rich will make you better. Let us learn from the history of Communism: making everyone equal only results in everyone being miserable.
Conservatives must oppose any new taxes. Conservatives oppose tax increases. Conservatives favor lower taxes. We must cut government in order to protect our individual liberties.
