“I am not in favor of the draft, but I don’t understand how men and women could be treated differently if a draft were put in place,” said Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). The Senate Armed Services Committee just voted in favor of drafting our daughters. Five Republican senators joined Sen. Warren and voted for putting women in the draft.
Sen. Warren is 72 years old and yet, she has not figured out that males and females have biological differences. Here are the reasons why men and women SHOULD be treated differently in the military draft:
- The purpose of our military defense is not equity, but to win wars and defeat the enemies who seek to destroy America. None of those enemies use female combat troops.
- The purpose of the draft is to have a ready pool of combat replacement troops in time of war — that is, “cannon fodder” of able-bodied men. Drafting and using equal numbers of women on the front lines will decrease the likelihood of American success on the battlefield.
- Women are physically weaker than men. Why is Sen. Warren opposed to recognizing a biological truth? Does she follow the science? Even the strongest, fittest, fastest female athlete will still lose to most biological men.
- Drafting women will undermine the family. Women will miss their prime child-bearing years if forcibly drafted and children will be left motherless. Expanding Selective Service to include women harms women and will have devastating effects on the next generation.
- Drafting women will undermine military readiness — which is probably the real purpose of the Leftists who are voting for drafting our daughters. America needs a strong military not “woke” ideology.
- Although the draft has not been used in 50 years, the laws are designed for times of crisis. If Congress changes Selective Service, the law will have to be followed during the next emergency. We should not allow Sen. Warren to enact a law that will have dire consequences after she is long out of office.
The attempt to draft our daughters is a non-negotiable issue. Eagle Forum cannot support any legislator who votes in favor of drafting females or adding women to the Selective Service. The House will shortly vote on this issue and our representatives must be held accountable.
