The crisis at the border is about to get worse thanks to two amnesty bills coming up for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The first bill, H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act, would grant automatic citizenship to 2.9 million individuals who entered the United States as a minor. You may know this as the unconstitutional Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). It would also grant citizenship to an additional 320,000 illegal immigrants who fall under Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
The second bill, H.R. 1537, the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, would grant citizenship to over 1 million agricultural workers and their relatives. It would also replace the current worker program with one where immigrants can work a certain number of hours to obtain a green card. That’s not a program based on merit or skill. It’s simply indentured servitude.
The U.S. has seen a massive surge of immigrants flooding our borders because the Biden administration has promised open borders. These immigrants are even showing up in Biden t-shirts to show their support. Meanwhile, apprehensions have increased 300%, new detention facilities are being built and used to 100% capacity, COVID tests are being waived, and the Department of Homeland Security is begging for more volunteers to help with the massive influx. This is extremely unsafe for the American people and the immigrants that Democrats are luring.
Both bills have passed the House previously. While H.R. 6 passed with only 7 Republicans voting in favor, H.R. 1537 poses more of a problem since it passed with 34 Republicans who broke party lines. Our Representatives need to know that you do not think granting wide-spread amnesty to illegal immigrants or forcing them into indentured servitude is acceptable.
