SJR8: Nevada State Equal Right Amendment will mean tax-funded abortions, rights for illegal aliens, loss of Religious liberty, taking away privacy from our children in school….

MESSAGE: Vote No on SJR8 a so-called State ERA, which will mean Taxpayer-funded abortions, loss of religious liberty, taking away the right to privacy for our children in school and rights for illegal aliens to vote and for welfare. It is wrong to bring this up at the last minute with no opportunity for citizens to respond! (or write your own message)
SJR8: “RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF 17 NEVADA, JOINTLY, That a new section, designated Section 24, be 18 added to Article 1 of the Nevada Constitution to read as follows: Sec. 24. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by this State or any of its political subdivisions on account of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, ancestry or national origin.”

What does this mean that “Equality under the law shall not be denied or abridged on account of”?

Sex? New Mexico Supreme Court unanimously agreed that their state’s ERA language mandates Taxpayer-funded Abortions. https://www.nrlc.org/federal/era/eraoped/

Sexual Orientation? Does this mean that those whose religion does not accept homosexuality and lesbianism will lose their Religious Liberty to practice their religion in their everyday lives, in their churches, businesses, jobs, and homes in teaching their children? Notice there is no protection of Religious Freedom.

Gender Identity or expression? Does this mean your child will lose their right to privacy and be forced to share bathrooms, showers, motel rooms on trips with persons who claim “particular gender identity or expression” which is not that of their birth?
