An important quality of effective leaders is their ability to encourage their followers and motivate them to confidently keep working on the task ahead. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is not one of those leaders. His recent lukewarm discussion of the chances for Republicans to take back the Senate in November not only cast a shadow on voters’ enthusiasm, but it insulted strong Republican candidates and their supporters.
