St. Louis, MO: With the Surrender Congress of 2015 preparing to pass yet another disastrous continuing resolution by December 11th — which will fund Planned Parenthood and the Obama Syrian Refugee Resettlement plan – Eagle Forum launched the “White Flag Congress” project to hold accountable all members of Congress.
Phyllis Schlafly, founder of Eagle Forum, said “Time and time again, the 2015 Republican-led Congress has promised to cut the size of government and reduce the Obama agencies’ intrusion into our lives. Time and time again, supposedly conservative lawmakers have broken those promises — even after we handed them victories in both chambers in 2014. It’s time to stop this nonsense and hold to account those who wave the white flag of surrender.”
“The Boehner Budget Deal showed Republicans willing to make secret deals and lie to the American people about what they did,” said Ed Martin, Eagle Forum President. “Negotiated in secret and jammed through the House by nearly all Republicans without amendments or meaningful debate, that deal was a betrayal and a precursor of what is to come. Congress is failing to do its duty under Article I and we must fight back. Every member of Congress is complicit and must stand up and fight back. If they won’t, the American people should fire them all by filing in primary elections right now. We will not stop until Congress does its job.”
Conservative leaders across the country are joining to launch “White Flag Congress.” This project will expose the culture of surrender in the GOP-controlled Congress — and encourage candidates willing to challenge the capitulators. White Flag Congress will use all the tools available to make clear why Americans must demand better from Congress including Internet ads, direct mail, and in-district meetings. Ed Martin will be in Texas this week meeting with grassroots leaders.
