Jim Jordan Should Be Speaker of the House

April 29, 2018

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced recently that he will not run for office again. This is great news for Conservatives after he passed through a number of bad bills, including the liberal Omnibus spending bill. As House Members are making plans to run for the Speaker position, only one stands out as a true Conservative. That Member is Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

As a co-founder of the House Freedom Caucus, he stands on the right side of a swath of issues such as life, immigration, fiscal matters, gun control, free speech, and social issues. The thirty-member Freedom Caucus has voted unitedly to represent those who feel like their voice is not heard in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Jordan

Rep. Jordan has always been an ally to Eagle Forum. Since his first day in office, he has continued to have a perfect score with numerous Conservative organizations including Eagle Forum, Family Research Council, Heritage Foundation, and National Right to Life just to name a few. He has even received a grade A with Numbers USA on immigration issues.

Speaker Ryan has endorsed as his successor Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) who has continuously voted similarly to Democrats. Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is also planning a run but does not share the conservative history of Rep. Jordan.

While Rep. Jordan has not officially announced his run, he is seriously considering it. Conservative organizations are already making their support known to encourage him to run and to thwart votes for another RINO Speaker. Speaker Ryan will finish his term and then hand over his position going into the new Congressional year. Eagle Forum will keep you updated on this race and our efforts to support Rep. Jordan for House Speaker.
