Last week was a very productive week in Washington.
Please be on the lookout for a coalition letter setting forth conservative expectations for the Department of Education, including specific policy expectations and personnel recommendations for assistant secretaries. We will circulate that letter as soon as it is finalized.
Work to Support Sessions’ Confirmation as Attorney General
The consensus among our conservative allies is that the grassroots must be involved in helping get Senator Jeff Sessions confirmed as Attorney General. His confirmation hearing is scheduled to begin January 20, 2017. The more we can do to fight back against liberal attacks and keep them on the defensive, the better our chances of getting solid conservative Supreme Court nominees. Below is a series of links to good articles about Senator Sessions. Please share them strategically with your lists and social media networks

Update H.R. 4919
Last week we told you about H.R. 4919, a bill that would provide federal funding to provide tracking devices for people with Autism and dementia. The House passed this bill by voice vote under suspension of the rules last week, and the Senate bill has passed unanimously over the summer. However, thankfully, the Senate adjourned without granting final approval to the law.
We Must Keep Up Fight to Defund Planned Parenthood
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley referred Planned Parenthood for criminal action for their sale of fetal tissue. Within hours of the referral, President Obama announced an executive rule that would effectively prevent states from defunding Planned Parenthood. When the Senate returns we must keep up pressure on our Senators to vote for the budget that defunds Planned Parenthood! Here is an excellent article on the issue from our friends at Family Research Council: http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=WA16L30&f=WU16L10

Congressman Brat is a great friend to Eagle Forum. He shared that he misses Glyn Wright and is thrilled to know that the Eagles are back on Capitol Hill.
