Tell HHS that You Support Conscience Protection

President Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed a new regulation in January of this year that protects individuals from being discriminated against based on their beliefs. This regulation protects individuals and employers from being forced to pay or participate in a procedure that violates their beliefs, such as abortions, sterilizations, and assisted suicides. Now they need to hear from you!

In states like California and Washington, individuals have no choice but to choose a health plan with abortion coverage. Not only are these plans forced on individuals, but also churches and businesses. This regulation would free-up state plans to offer alternative coverage.

For eight years, the Obama Administration refused to enforce this Constitutional right. In November of 2016, HHS only received 36 complaints from medical professionals who have faced consequences for refusing to violate their conscience. Yet, in this year alone, HHS has received over 300 complaints. Healthcare workers know that the new Administration will stand up for their rights.

HHS will receive comments from the public on this matter until March 27. Submit your comments now to let them know that you support this regulation.
