Sen. Rick Santorum Signs Stop Common Core Pledge

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 13, 2015

St. Louis, MO: Senator Rick Santorum has become the next Republican presidential contender to sign Eagle Forum’s STOP Common Core Pledge. Ed Martin released the following statement:

“We are thrilled that Senator Santorum has taken this opportunity to affirm his position against Common Core and other progressive education programs,” Martin said. “This is one of the biggest issues facing American kids and families today. As aspiring leaders of our country, we hope that all of the presidential contenders will sign this pledge. If they are serious about earning our votes, they must show us they’re serious about defending our kids from special interest-driven education. We thank Rick Santorum for his commitment to stopping these high-paid textbook and testing companies from destroying our kids’ educations to protect their salaries and industry monopoly.”

Eagle Forum is one of the first and foremost national advocates against the Common Core State Standards and all other progressive-based, federally-led education initiatives. This pledge gives candidates and incumbents a chance to reassure grassroots voters all over the country that they will publicly oppose and work to end federal intrusion in our schools.
