Anne Kennedy Honored

Anne Kennedy Anne Kennedy, the wife of Dr. D. James Kennedy, was recently given the Fulltime Homemaker Award for 2004 by Eagle Forum.

The award is presented annually to a fulltime career homemaker who is raising, or has raised, her family on a single income earned by her husband. It honors those who give their children a resident mother in the home, and the constancy, stability, and emotional security that comes with that often sacrificial commitment.

"It was quite a surprise to me," said Mrs. Kennedy. "I felt doubly blessed and so honored to be named among those already honored."

Past recipients include the wife of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Mrs. Rick Santorum, Mrs. Todd Akin, Mrs. J.C. Watts, Mrs. Ollie North, Mrs. James Dobson, and Mrs. Roy Moore. "We are proud of Anne Kennedy and appreciate the chance to honor her," stated Schlafly. "Anne is the premier type of wife and mother who is the mainstay of the family and the hope of America’s future."

Mrs. Kennedy affirmed that, "Being a fulltime homemaker gave me much more time to rear our daughter, Jennifer, in the knowledge of the Lord."

It also gave her time, she said, to volunteer in her church’s music department, learn to witness to her faith, and even train other people to share their faith. Mrs. Kennedy has faithfully shared Christ through the Evangelism Explosion ministry of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years.

"It has also been my purpose to help my husband reach the goals he has set," she said, "and these goals have been mine, too."

Dr. Kennedy’s reaction to the award? "I was delighted!" he said.
