TEXANS BATTLE TTC, 4-14-08

TEXANS UNITING FOR REFORM and Freedom (TURF) marched up
Congress Avenue and held a big rally on the capitol steps in Austin April 5, short circuiting an apparent underhanded effort to suppress grassroots turnout against the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC).

This is the second straight year that ranchers and various other opponents have converged on Austin to passionately voice their opposition to the TTC, or NAFTA Superhighway, an invasive mega-tollway network that would carve out at least 584,000 acres of Texas land, forcing most landowners to sell their properties at a big loss.

Mexican official says NAFTA includes superhighways, 3-18-08

'Transportation linking the United States, Mexico and Canada is key to the future'

While President Bush and other U.S. officials have derided fears of a NAFTA superhighway as merely conspiracy theory, a Mexican transportation expert contends the trade agreement includes plans for a network of international ship, rail and truck connections to deliver consumer goods from China and the Far East to Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.

"Transportation linking the United States, Mexico and Canada is key to the future of NAFTA," Eduardo Aspero, president of the Mexican Intermodal Association, told a recent luncheon sponsored by the Free Trade Alliance San Antonio.

North-of-border link finishes NAFTA superhighway grid

Atlantic-Pacific route would allow cross-continental goods deliveries

Canada has announced a plan to extend the NAFTA Superhighway network north in a way that would finish a continental grid designed to accommodate an anticipated tsunami of containers from China and the Far East.
The Canadian Intelligent Super Corridor, or CISCOR, is a national transportation route designed to reach from the West Coast ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert to Montreal and Halifax.

Mexico's Fox openly calls for North American Union

Merger with Canada, U.S. is part of his dream to compete with Europe, Far East

WASHINGTON – Mexico's former President Vicente Fox is making no secret of his desire to promote a "North American Union" to compete economically with Europe and the Far East.

In a promotional tour for his new book, "Revolution of Hope," Fox told NPR's "Talk of the Nation" audience: "That's part of my Americas dream, that we can build our future together. We are partners with United States and Canada through NAFTA. There are other blocs in Latin America, but at the very end a continental trade agreement and union on the long term would be a way to develop ourselves and to be able to have the standards and level of living that we all need." Scholars Explain Bush's SPP

Those who seek to understand what's behind the chatter about Bush's Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) as a possible prelude to a North American Union (NAU), similar to the European Union (EU), should read the 35-page White Paper published recently by the prestigious Hudson Institute called "Negotiating North America: The Security and Prosperity Partnership." This Washington, DC think tank is blunt and detailed in describing where SPP is heading.

Here's how Hudson defines SPP's goal: "The SPP process is the vehicle for the discussion of future arrangements for economic integration to create a single market for goods and services in North America." The key words are "economic integration" (a phrase used again and again) into a North American "single market" (another phrase used repeatedly). Phyllis Schlafly 10-10-07 column

Ex-Mexican prez: Yes, there will be an amero

Vicente Fox confirms long-term plan worked out with President Bush

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox confirmed the existence of a government plan to create the amero as a new regional currency to replace the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar and the Mexican peso, in an interview last night on CNN's "Larry King Live."

It possibly was the first time a leader of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. openly confirmed a plan to create a regional currency. Fox explained the current regional trade agreement is intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of integration. WorldNetDaily.com, October 9, 2007

Referendum on proposal scheduled Oct. 7

Costan Ricans fear a trade deal similar to the North American Free Trade Agreement could threaten their nation's sovereignty and the issue has been put up for a referendum on Oct. 7.

Port sparks NAFTA super-railway challenge

Another national line plans 'Asian gateway' to North America

With the focused development of the port in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, as an official "Asian Gateway," Canadian National is positioned to compete with Canadian Pacific as the first truly continental NAFTA super-railroad, reaching from Canada to Mexico through the heart of the U.S. On Sept. 12, Canadian National used the opening of its new container terminal at Prince Rupert to declare the railroad the "Midwest Express," a reference to its ambition to move containers of good manufactured in China into the heartland of North America through distribution hubs in Chicago and Memphis. STOP THE NAU/SPP - WHAT DOES THAT REALLY MEAN?

In July 2005, Phyllis Schlafly exposed the plans to integrate our republic with Canada and Mexico, although there were spotty articles here and there over the years about this treason (list of them at bottom of my column here). Dr. Jerome Corsi has also spent the past couple of years exposing this insidious grand plan to finally do away with our borders all in the name of global trade. This issue is a major battle ground, although tens of millions of Americans have no idea what it's about thanks to the compromised media and network cable channels. The Nation cover story denies Superhighway

Nevertheless acknowledges massive Texas project to accommodate NAFTA, WTO

In a cover story for the current Nation magazine, Christopher Hayes is the latest to join a growing list of those who deny a NAFTA Superhighway exists.

"There is no such thing as a proposed NAFTA Superhighway," Hayes declares.

The remainder of the article, however, shows how the Trans Texas Corridor under construction parallel to Interstate 35 is specifically designed to accommodate the steadily growing volume of NAFTA and World Trade Organization traffic pouring into Texas from China and the Far East through Mexican ports on the Pacific such as Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas. Judicial Watch Files Lawsuit Seeking Access to Security and Prosperity Partnership Advisory Group Meetings and Records

Agency’s Use of North American Competitiveness Council in Violation of Federal Advisory Committee Act

(Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Commerce and Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez for denying Judicial Watch access to the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC) meetings and records. According to the complaint, the council, which consists of “high level business leaders,” advises the United States, Mexican, and Canadian governments on North American competitiveness issues to be addressed through the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). (On March 23, 2005, heads of government Vincente Fox, George W. Bush, and Paul Martin launched SPP at a meeting in Waco, Texas, with the expressed goal of “a safer, more prosperous North America.”) JudicialWatch.com, Aug 10, 2007

Question: What is the NAFTA superhighway, and how would it work?

NAFTA superhighway is a buzz phrase for major transportation corridors that carry international trade through the three biggest countries of North America: Mexico, the United States and Canada.

These highways existed long before implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement began on Jan. 1, 1994.

With total domestic freight tonnage projected to increase 67 percent by 2020, the race is on to secure funding to maintain and improve the U.S. domestic transportation infrastructure and to build new roads to alleviate critical congestion on the nation's roads. AZStar.net, 8.09.2007
