Washington University to award Phyllis Schlafly honorary degree at 147th Commencement , 4-28-08

Schlafly, a native St. Louisan and two-time Washington University graduate, has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the 1964 publication of her book, "A Choice Not An Echo." With 3 million copies sold, it is listed as one of 10 best-selling conservative books of the past 50 years.

A prolific writer, Schlafly is the author or editor of 20 books on subjects as varied as the judiciary, family and feminism, nuclear strategy, child care and education.

She earned a bachelor's in political science in Arts & Sciences from Washington University in 1944; a master's in political science from Harvard University in 1945; and a juris doctorate from Washington University School of Law in 1978.

Corsi to address California Eagle Forum event, 3-26-08

Will deliver keynote address at regional conference

Schlafly brings anti-UN, anti-WTO message to Naples event

Conservative political activist Phyllis Schlafly shared her views on the presidential elections and issues Friday at her 28th annual speech to the local Eagle Forum chapter.

From issues with national implications, such as immigration, to international policies, Schlafly urged those attending during the hour-long speech to push the next president on certain points.

The Naples chapter of Eagle Forum will hold its annual luncheon meeting

The Naples chapter of Eagle Forum will hold its annual luncheon meeting on Friday, March 14, at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club.

The featured speaker will be National Eagle Forum President Phyllis Schlafly.

Schlafly is well known as a leading opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment. She is one of America’s best-known conservatives and lectures regularly.

Her speech will be: “What We Want from the Next President.”

Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used to provide free tickets to the luncheon to local high school students.

Political consultant urges local conservatives to rethink methods of activism

One statewide group, Alabama Eagle Forum, is attempting to increase the conservative voice in the state.

Anita Andrews, a nationwide political consultant, spoke to Eagle Forum of Alabama supporters about proper and improper ways to make their voices heard about political issues at a forum meeting Tuesday night in Dothan. Andrews is the keynote speaker of “Action Alabama,” a series of grassroots workshops across the state designed to show conservatives how to make their voices heard by legislators and voters. Crowd cheers as Tancredo blasts illegal -- and legal -- immigration in U.S.

Frontenac — Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., asserted Friday that his anti-immigration message, which brought a crowd here to its feet, is also dragging down his Republican bid for the White House.

Pat Boone to appear at Eagle Forum

FRONTENAC — Singer Pat Boone and two Republican presidential hopefuls will headline a three-day meeting here of leaders of the Eagle Forum, a national conservative group.

Christian group plans straw poll, religion-and-politics faceoff

The Family Research Council is planning a three-day "Values Voter Summit" this fall, complete with a presidential straw poll and a conservative-liberal faceoff on religion and politics.

The council advertises the conference, Oct. 19-21 in Washington, as "the largest gathering of values voters from across the nation." It will include a gala dinner honoring James Dobson, head of Focus on the Family.

Other confirmed big names include council president Tony Perkins; Phyllis Schlafly, head of the Eagle Forum; activists Gary Bauer and Paul Weyrich; Robert Bork, Bill Bennett and former senator Rick Santorum. Phyllis Schlafly will speak on Hillsdale Cruise

Eagle President Phyllis will be one of the speakers on an educational cruise sponsored by Hillsdale College called “Exploring American History” .  The dates are Oct. 24 to Nov. 4 (11 days).  The luxury liner Crystal Symphony will depart from Montreal, make stops in Quebec City, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Charleston, and end in Miami. Other on-board speakers will include historians Paul Johnson, Victor Davis Hanson and Richard Brookhiser, and Reagan’s Atty.
