Phyllis Schlafly: McCain Pro-Choice VP Pick 'Mistake'
Commenting on John McCain's remark that Tom Ridge's pro-choice position would not rule him out as a vice presidential running mate, conservative leader and strongly pro-lifer Phyllis Schlafly got straight to the point by bluntly telling Newsmax, "I think [McCain] would be making a mistake."

Re Ridge: I have contacted the McCain office via email, but not sure if it will ever reach him....As a former PA Republican Committeewoman and supevoter... I cautioned McCain that I for one, and other I know, would stay homeif Tom Ridge was tapped... Tom Ridge did more to ruin education in PA than Bob Casey Sr. who introduced OBE. And Ed Rendell who perpetuated the failed education plans of TR.
After inheriting OBE from Casey Sr....Ridge just changed its name from Outcome Based Education to Standards based Education..te "outcomes" remained the same exactly....and added 'sexual orientation" to the discrimination clause...
