Fence Protects Bush; Why Not Arizona?

President Bush’s meeting with the G-8 in Hamburg, Germany is protected by a “welded-mesh fence, topped with barbed wire and video cameras,” which “begins in the water and wends its way 12 kilometers through the countryside till it ends back in the water, further down the beach.” In October, Congress ordered the construction of a 700-mile fence on the U.S. southern border, but only 12 miles have been built.

Why the double standard?
